Port Roig
Port Roig is situated at four kilometres from Son Servera, and the name reminds us that it used to be a jetty, -there are still some rests of four pillars that emerge from the water-, and it reflects the reddish coloration of the rocks that can be found in this place. It belongs to the touristic denomination of Costa dels Pins. This calm and pleasant coast is a fine-grained sandy area, the access to the water is easy and there are many old tamarisks, the fruit of which has a pleasant flavour and laxing properties. The natural headland of Punta Roja serves as breakwater on the eastern part, whereas at the rear there are hotels and residential constructions. This sandy area is sheltered from the wind coming from north, but quite exposed toward east which explains the huge quantity of seaweed on the ground and coast. This is why anchoring boats on a sandy and stony ground with a depth that ranges from two to four metres is possible with sea current of the fourth quadrant. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Cala Bona, at 0,2 nautical miles. The morphological characteristics and the touristic activity explain that this coastal area is very popular amongst local and tourist families who decide to spend the summer here. This sandy and stony area of the eastern Majorca has a medium occupancy of both types of visitors. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. You can park your private car for free in the surroundings of the hotel Sun Wing Resort. You can also reach the beach with a touristic mini-train. Information about this beach may change.
