Cala Marmassen
Cala Marmassen is situated at 1,7 kilometres from Port dAndratx, between Punta Marmassen and Morro des Garrover, on the eastern side of the impressive Punta de la Mola. The cliffs of this headland are 128 metres high, and this breathtaking height is reduced until it reaches the rocky area that surrounds this beach with pine trees on the top. The very small size and the absence of sand make it impossible to sunbathe in a comfortable way, there is also a steep slope, at a few metres from the coast the depth is four metres, so that children are not recommended to come here. The few visitors who come here use some platform on a rock to find a good position and enter the crystal clear water on an attractive rocky ground. This is why this cove is very popular amongst people who do snorkelling. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent if the wind from the south is not too strong. This coastal corner has a ground with gravel and rock at a depth that ranges between four and seven metres. The nearest port facilities are located at Port dAndratx, at 2,7 nautical miles. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs until the lighthouse of Cap de sa Mola. Once you have passed the village and Racó des Milà you will find this stony area. This last stretch to Cala Marmassen is quite difficult and has to be done on foot. Information about this beach may change.
